Kids Apron

Kids love to be included in all that we do and the kitchen is no exception. What better way for your little one to get involved in helping than in their very own apron!

My boys received aprons from grandma last year and love wearing them when we are making cookies. Peyton, my oldest, can make a few things now with little help (Mac n cheese, scrambled eggs, Rice Krispie bars, etc.) and always sports his apron when doing so.

I always like to do some homemade gifts for Christmas and thought my niece and a friends daughter might enjoy their own aprons.

I found a simple and free pattern here from Sew Liberated, made a trip to Joanns and found some adorable cupcake fabric and I was all set.

To make this project you’ll need:

  • 3/4 yard medium weight fabric
  • 14 inches of 3/4 inch wide elastic
  • 2 inches of 3/4 inch wide Velcro

It really was simple to put together and probably took maybe an hour. I can’t wait to see them wear them when helping in the kitchen or even playing kitchen. I also made a coordinating apron for Mom.  Won’t they be so cute together?!?!

Have you started your Christmas projects yet? If not this might be a quick and easy one to add to your list.  Shine bright and stay sweet!
